My Story
I am a woman on fire for Christ and His Church,
but you can call me Jessamyn :)

Hello! My name is Jessamyn, and I'm a young, Catholic woman trying to figure out what God is doing in my life. Don't worry, I haven't figured it out. It's even more of a mystery to me now than it was when I really began to devote my life to Christ and the Church. The only thing I'm certain of is that God has a sense of humor, and I'm very grateful for that.

I recently graduated from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with a degree in classical voice, and I'm pursuing a singing career in the musical theatre and classical arena. Singing and performing bring me more joy than anything else in the world, and I am thankful to be surrounded by family and friends who support me in my musical endeavors. If you'd like to learn more about what I do, you can check out my website!

While at IU, I was heavily involved with campus ministry and small faith-sharing groups. That faith community changed my life. I was raised Catholic in a family that went to church every Sunday, and my parents encouraged me to attend retreats in middle school and high school (which I did). But my faith took off in college, and I wouldn't be the same person I am today without my St. Paul's family at Indiana University.

I'm always happy to shout out some fun facts about my life, so here we go.

  • I will eat anything involving Oreos or s'mores.

  • I believe it is impossible to own too many cardigans.

  • Jazzercise is my favorite way to exercise. I'm thankful that neon leggings, leg warmers, and side ponytails are no longer involved in the classes.

  • If you find me watching TV, I can almost guarantee it will be something on BBC, usually a period drama. I love historical fiction.

  • I have more than 50 first cousins. Catholic families--gotta love them!

If I love to sing and eat Oreos, then why did I start a blog? I've been thinking about it for more than a year, and felt like God was tugging on my heart to share how He has impacted my life. I will admit up front that I am not an expert on the teachings of the Church, nor do I believe I am anywhere close to sainthood. But I will say that I am striving every day to grow closer to Christ and learn about this beautiful faith He blessed us with. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!

Your sister in Christ,

Jessamyn Anderson
